Refund and Right of Withdrawal Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
We want you to be happy with your Inkwallart purchase. This policy
explains when products may be returned, how to exercise a statutory
right of withdrawal, how refunds are processed and what happens if a
product arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect.
This policy applies to purchases made through
www.inkwallart.com
.
It should be read together with our:
- Terms of Service
- Distance Sales Agreement
- Pre-Contract Information Form
- Shipping and Delivery Policy
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces any mandatory
consumer rights available under applicable law.
1. Seller Information
Legal company name:[COMPANY LEGAL NAME]
Trading name:
Inkwallart
Company registration number:[COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER]
Registered address:[REGISTERED BUSINESS ADDRESS]
Returns address:[RETURNS ADDRESS]
Customer support email:
[email protected]
Website:
www.inkwallart.com
Products must not be returned to our registered office unless we have
confirmed that it is also the correct returns address.
2. Overview of Our Return Policy
Subject to the conditions and exclusions in this policy:
- Every product is printed and finished to order after you buy it. We therefore do not offer voluntary change-of-mind returns beyond what the law requires.
- Products made from your own images, AI artwork created for you in our design studio, or other personalisation are made to your specifications and cannot be returned for a change of mind.
- UK and European consumers have a statutory
14-day right of withdrawal for standard, non-personalised products from our catalogue. - If a product arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, we will reprint it or refund it at no cost to you. Please report it within 30 days of delivery.
- Personalised, custom-made and made-to-order products are generally
not eligible for change-of-mind returns. - Faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or incorrectly produced
products remain covered by applicable consumer rights. - A return must be authorised before the product is sent back.
3. Made-to-Order Production
Inkwallart products are produced by our printing partners only after an order is placed. Each print is made for the specific order, size, format and design you choose, and it is not taken from existing stock.
For this reason we do not offer voluntary change-of-mind returns or exchanges. This does not affect any statutory right of withdrawal that applies to you (see section 4), or your rights where a product is damaged, faulty or incorrect (see sections 16 to 19).
Please check the preview, size, format, orientation and crop carefully before you order.
4. UK and European Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area or
another country providing an equivalent statutory right, you may have
the right to withdraw from an eligible online purchase without giving
a reason.
For eligible physical products, the withdrawal period generally
expires 14 calendar days after the day on which you, or a person
nominated by you, receives the product.
If multiple eligible products from the same order are delivered
separately, the withdrawal period generally begins after the final
product is received.
You may exercise the right of withdrawal before the product is
delivered.
To exercise this right, you must send us a clear statement confirming
your decision to withdraw before the relevant period expires.
You may contact us by email at:
You may use the model withdrawal form at the end of this policy, but
you are not required to use that form.
5. Returning Products After Withdrawal
After notifying us that you wish to exercise a statutory right of
withdrawal, you must return the eligible products without undue delay
and normally no later than 14 calendar days after your notification.
The deadline is met if you send the products before the relevant
14-day return period expires.
Please do not send a return until we have provided the correct returns
address and return instructions.
Returns may be processed through different fulfilment centres depending
on:
- Your delivery country;
- The product type;
- The production location;
- The framing option; and
- The reason for return.
6. Products Covered by the Statutory Right of Withdrawal
Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, it may cover standard products from our catalogue that are not personalised and not made to your specifications, such as:
- Standard-size unframed prints;
- Standard posters;
- Standard gallery wall sets;
- Standard-size frames;
- Standard framed prints that were not custom-made;
- Poster hangers;
- Passepartouts or mounts in standard sizes; and
- Other non-personalised products expressly marked as returnable.
Eligibility depends on the product condition and the exclusions stated
in this policy.
7. Products Not Eligible for Change-of-Mind Return
Unless the product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or
incorrectly produced, change-of-mind returns are not normally accepted
for:
- Clearly personalised products;
- Products made to your specifications;
- Products containing names, initials, dates or personal messages;
- Products made using customer-supplied photographs or artwork;
- Products made from AI artwork created for you in our design studio;
- Products in a size, format, crop or orientation you chose for your own design;
- Coordinate, location or custom map prints;
- Custom house, pet or portrait illustrations;
- Custom-size prints;
- Custom-size frames;
- Custom-framed or custom-mounted products;
- Products created using bespoke colour selections;
- Products that have been altered at your request;
- Gift cards, except where required by law;
- Products damaged after delivery through misuse;
- Products damaged by unsuitable installation or wall fixings; and
- Any other product legally excluded from the right of withdrawal.
The personalised product exception does not apply where Inkwallart made
an error, the product is defective or the product does not match the
personalisation details accepted with the order.
8. How to Request a Return
To request a return, email:
Please include:
- Your full name;
- Your order number;
- The product you wish to return;
- The quantity being returned;
- The reason for the return;
- Whether the product has been opened or installed;
- Photographs, where the product is damaged or incorrect; and
- Your preferred resolution.
We will provide:
- A return authorisation or return reference;
- The correct returns address;
- Packaging instructions;
- Any required return label; and
- Information about return shipping costs.
Products sent without authorisation or to an incorrect address may be
delayed, rejected or returned to the sender.
9. Return Shipping Costs
Change-of-Mind Returns
Unless we state otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of
returning a product because you changed your mind.
Where applicable law requires us to pay the return cost, or where we
failed to inform you about that cost before purchase, we will comply
with the applicable requirement.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
If a product is faulty, damaged in transit, incorrectly supplied or
incorrectly produced by us, Inkwallart will cover reasonable return
shipping costs or provide another suitable return method.
You must follow the return instructions we provide. We may not reimburse
unusually expensive return methods that were selected without our prior
approval.
10. Packaging Returned Products
You are responsible for packaging returned products appropriately.
Where possible, use:
- The original protective packaging;
- A rigid poster tube for rolled prints;
- Corner protectors for frames;
- Protective wrapping for glazed or acrylic surfaces;
- A strong external box; and
- A trackable shipping service.
Do not fold, roll or package a product in a manner that may damage it.
Please remove or cover any previous shipping labels before returning
the parcel.
11. Condition of Returned Products
You may inspect an eligible product in a manner reasonably necessary to
establish its nature, characteristics and suitability.
You may be responsible for a reduction in the product’s value where it
has been handled beyond what would reasonably be permitted when
inspecting the product in a physical shop.
A deduction may apply where, for example:
- A print has been marked, creased, torn or stained;
- A product has been permanently hung or installed;
- A frame has been scratched or damaged;
- Protective film has been removed and the surface damaged;
- Components or accessories are missing;
- The product has been altered;
- The product has absorbed smoke, moisture or strong odours; or
- Inadequate return packaging causes avoidable damage.
We will not make deductions that are prohibited by applicable law.
12. Original Delivery Charges
UK and European Statutory Withdrawal
Where required by law, we will refund the cost of the least expensive
standard delivery method available for the order.
If you selected an express, premium or other more expensive delivery
method, the additional amount above the standard delivery cost may not
be refunded.
13. Refund Processing
Refunds are normally issued to the original payment method.
Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, the refund will be
processed within the time required by applicable law.
We may withhold a refund until:
- We have received the returned products; or
- You provide acceptable evidence that the products were sent back,
whichever occurs first, where permitted by law.
For voluntary returns, we normally inspect and process the return within
5 to 10 business days after it reaches the designated return facility.
Once we issue a refund, your bank, card issuer or payment provider may
require additional time to display the funds in your account.
Inkwallart is not responsible for delays caused solely by the payment
provider after the refund has been correctly submitted.
14. Refund Method
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for
the original order.
An alternative refund method may be used where:
- The original payment method is no longer available;
- The payment provider requires another method;
- You expressly agree to another method; or
- Applicable law requires another process.
Store credit will not be substituted for a legally required monetary
refund without your agreement.
15. Partial Refunds
A partial refund may be offered or applied where:
- Only part of an order is returned;
- Only one item in a set is defective and a partial remedy is appropriate;
- You agree to keep a product with a minor issue;
- A product has suffered a legally permitted reduction in value;
- Components are missing from a voluntary return; or
- Another partial remedy is agreed with you.
We will explain the reason and calculation for any proposed partial
refund.
16. Damaged Products
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably
possible.
Please contact us within 30 days of delivery so that we can arrange a reprint or refund with our printing partner and the delivery provider.
The 30-day reporting request does not remove any mandatory legal rights
you may have after that period.
Please provide:
- Your order number;
- A photograph of the entire product;
- Close-up photographs of the damage;
- Photographs of the external packaging;
- Photographs of the internal protective packaging;
- A photograph of the shipping label; and
- A description of the condition in which the parcel arrived.
Please keep the product and packaging until we confirm whether they are
required for inspection or return.
17. Faulty or Defective Products
A product may be considered faulty or defective where it:
- Has a material manufacturing defect;
- Is not as described;
- Is not of the quality required by applicable law;
- Is materially different from the product ordered;
- Contains a printing or framing defect;
- Was personalised incorrectly by Inkwallart; or
- Does not conform to the sales contract.
Normal colour differences caused by screen settings, minor printing
tolerances or natural variations in wood grain are not necessarily
defects.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we may offer:
- A repair;
- A replacement;
- A reprint;
- A price reduction;
- A partial refund;
- A full refund; or
- Another legally appropriate remedy.
18. Incorrect or Missing Products
Contact us promptly if:
- You receive a product you did not order;
- The size, colour or frame option is incorrect;
- A product is missing from the parcel;
- A component is missing;
- A gallery wall set is incomplete; or
- The personalisation differs from the confirmed order details.
Products from one order may be dispatched separately. Before reporting
a missing item, please check the order confirmation and tracking
information for additional shipments.
19. Personalisation Errors
We will provide an appropriate remedy where a personalised product does
not match the personalisation information accepted with your order
because of an error made by Inkwallart or its production partner.
We are not responsible for errors reproduced accurately from
information entered, uploaded or approved by you, including:
- Incorrect spelling;
- Incorrect names or initials;
- Incorrect dates;
- Incorrect coordinates or locations;
- Low-resolution photographs;
- Incorrect image orientation;
- Incorrect selected colours; or
- Incorrect custom dimensions.
We may nevertheless review the circumstances and offer a discretionary
reprint or discount where appropriate.
20. Exchanges
We do not normally process direct product exchanges.
To obtain another size, colour, design or frame option, please place a new order for the product you want. Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies to the original product, you may also withdraw from that purchase in accordance with this policy.
If a product is faulty, damaged or incorrect, we may arrange a
replacement directly instead of requiring a new order.
21. Order Cancellation Before Dispatch
Contact us immediately if you wish to cancel or amend an order before
dispatch.
We will try to accommodate the request, but cancellation or amendment
cannot be guaranteed after:
- Production has begun;
- A print has been produced;
- A frame has been assembled;
- A personalised preview has been approved;
- The order has been transferred to fulfilment; or
- The parcel has been dispatched.
This section does not restrict a statutory cancellation right that
applies to an eligible product.
22. Delayed or Unshipped Orders
If we cannot dispatch your order within the promised period, we will
provide information and options required by applicable law.
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may be offered:
- A revised dispatch or delivery estimate;
- The option to accept the delay;
- The option to cancel the affected product; or
- A refund for an unshipped product.
If an unshipped order is cancelled, the refund will be made to the
original payment method rather than being limited to store credit.
23. Lost Deliveries
If tracking shows no delivery or the parcel appears to have been lost,
contact us so that we can investigate with the delivery provider.
We may ask you to:
- Confirm the delivery address;
- Check with other household members;
- Check with neighbours or building reception;
- Check any nominated safe place;
- Confirm whether a delivery notice was received; and
- Complete a non-receipt declaration.
Where the product is confirmed lost and responsibility remains with
Inkwallart under applicable law, we will provide a replacement, refund
or other appropriate remedy.
24. Refused and Unclaimed Deliveries
If a delivery is refused, unclaimed or returned because of an incorrect
address supplied by the customer, reasonable shipping, return or
redelivery costs may be deducted from a voluntary refund where
permitted by law.
No such deduction will be made where the refusal or delivery failure
was caused by:
- A faulty product;
- An incorrect product;
- Damage in transit;
- An error by Inkwallart;
- An error by the delivery provider; or
- Another circumstance for which the seller is legally responsible.
25. Customs Duties, Taxes and International Returns
International returns may be subject to customs documentation and
carrier requirements.
When returning an international order, you must clearly identify the
parcel as returned goods where required and follow the customs
instructions we provide.
Inkwallart is not responsible for customs charges caused by incorrect
return declarations submitted by the customer.
Import duties, customs fees and local taxes paid directly to a
government authority or delivery provider may not be refundable by
Inkwallart.
You may need to apply directly to the relevant authority for a refund
of those charges.
Taxes or duties collected directly by Inkwallart will be refunded where
required by applicable law and supported by the relevant transaction
process.
26. Gifts
Refunds for products purchased as gifts are normally issued to the
original purchaser and original payment method.
A gift recipient may contact us about a faulty or damaged product, but
we may require:
- The order number;
- The purchaser’s name;
- Proof of purchase; or
- Authorisation from the purchaser.
27. Sale and Promotional Products
Eligible sale and promotional products have the same mandatory legal
protections as full-price products.
A product is not treated as faulty solely because of a defect that was
clearly disclosed before purchase and formed part of the reduced-price
offer.
28. Proof of Purchase
We may request reasonable proof that the product was purchased from
Inkwallart.
Acceptable proof may include:
- An order confirmation;
- An order number;
- A payment record;
- A delivery record;
- An account order history; or
- Other reliable evidence of purchase.
29. Abuse of the Return Process
We may investigate or refuse a return request where we reasonably
suspect:
- Fraud;
- Use of altered or false documents;
- Return of a product not purchased from Inkwallart;
- Intentional damage;
- Repeated misuse of voluntary return rights;
- Replacement fraud;
- Abuse of promotional offers; or
- Another unlawful activity.
This section does not permit us to refuse a valid mandatory consumer
right.
30. United States Customers
United States customers do not automatically receive the UK or European
statutory 14-day right of withdrawal solely because an order was placed
online.
Because every product is printed to order, change-of-mind returns are not offered to United States customers, except where federal or state law requires otherwise.
We will reprint or refund a product, at no cost to you, where:
- The product is faulty;
- The product is damaged;
- The wrong product was supplied;
- The product was incorrectly personalised or produced; or
- Applicable law requires another remedy.
